Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe

In model parameters, Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe ' s total parameter count is about 34 billion, and parameter count is about 4.3 billion activated each time the reasoning is made.
In the English speech recognition test, the average word error rate (WER) of the model on nine open test sets was 4.71 per cent, lower than the other voice models in the table.
In the multilingual speech recognition test, the average WER of the model was 4.62 per cent and ranked third, better than Qwen3-ASR-1.7B, Voxtral-Small-24B and Whisper-large-v3, but less than Eleven Labs Scribe v2 and Azure Speech.
While the traditional voice recognition system is primarily responsible for the translation of voice into text, Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe is also able to adjust the form of text transliteration to mission needs, improve the recognition accuracy of proprietary terms in conjunction with context and mark statements by different speakers.
I. Single models support six transliterations covering 40 languages
Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe supports six transliteration forms that can be converted by command: word-to-word, written, context-aided, context-aided, transliterated, rich transliteration with non-verbal information, and voice translation.
The word-for-word approach focuses on retaining the original voice content, while the written version adjusts the text to the written expression custom. context-assisted transliteration can be used to improve identification results by using information such as user-specific terminology; transliteration that indicates the speaker will distinguish between speakers; enrichment of transliteration will also record non-verbal information such as laughter; and voice translation will convert voice content to the target language.

In the overall architecture, the model handles voice content and talking person information separately through a parallel encoder, which then integrates the two-way information and generates transliteration results. The voice recognition encoder is responsible for extracting language information, while the talking person separation module judges who speaks at different times and transmits relevant information to subsequent models.

The model continues to be used mainly for voice transliteration and is not a fluid recognition system for real-time voice interaction. The design, which integrates voice recognition and talking person separation into the same set of modelling processes, can be used to handle scenes such as meeting records, interviews and multi-person discussions.
ii. Parallel code integration of voice information, context recognition capability
Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe uses Nemotron 3.5 Lightning 30B-A3B as the language model backbone network. According to the technical report published by Weida, the backbone network consists of 52 layers, 23 using Mamba-2 structures, 23 using hybrid specialist (MoE) structures and 6 using Attention attention mechanisms.
Mamba-2 focuses on processing long-sequence information, while the MoE structure is calculated by selecting some experts to participate in the calculation, while retaining the size of the overall parameters of the model while controlling the amount of calculation required for a single reasoning. The Attention layer is responsible for the corresponding attention calculations, and the three modules together form the language-processing part of the model.

For the time information in the recording, the model also includes a specific time stamp adapter, aligning the words with the time position in the audio after the text is generated, and thus output the word scale time stamp. When combined with the talking person information, the model can generate a transliteration with a time position and the speaker ' s affiliation.
In the area of training, Weida used a phased process, starting with the initialization of the model and then the supervisory fine-tuning (SFT) and further optimizing model performance through enhanced learning. Monitoring fine-tuning helps models learn how to input and output different tasks, while subsequent optimization focuses on improving voice recognition performance.
From the results of the training, the enhanced learning phase further improved model performance. The technical report showed that WER from 4.34 per cent to 4.00 per cent in the open voice recognition test in English and from 5.05 per cent to 4.78 per cent in multilingual voice recognition; the accuracy rate of the code entity increased from 86.37 per cent to 88.60 per cent, and the proportion of hallucinogenic penetrations decreased from 46.04 per cent to 41.21 per cent. These changes suggest that the training optimization is not only concerned with the overall pass-through accuracy rate, but is also an attempt to reduce proprietary name recognition errors and additional elements that should not have occurred in the transfer.

In terms of training data, Granary-v2 and Intra-Vida voice data are the main data sources to oversee the fine-tuning phase. According to the technical report, Granary-v2 false tagging, manual refinement and voice translation data accounted for 31.2 per cent, 25.7 per cent and 13.7 per cent of the sampling probability for data sources, respectively, and 25.1 per cent of the voice data for Inner Weida. The overall probability of sampling for the four categories of data is 95.7 per cent.

In addition to the data sources, the model sets the extraction probability of sample according to different tasks. In Granary-v2 and internal voice sample, the combined mission extraction probability of context-assisted speech recognition-related variants is approximately 40 per cent. Such tasks require that models be combined with the given context message to recognize, for example, proprietary terms in voice.

iii. Best English recognition, 30 seconds audio, about 0.13 seconds. Turn Write
In the voice recognition assessment, Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe achieved an average of 4.71 per cent WER on the nine open test sets of Open ASR Leaderboard in English, with the best performance and average WER below the model Qwen3-ASR-1.7B, Granite-Speech-5.0-2B. WER is used to measure the difference between the transliterated text and the standard answer, the lower the value, the more accurate the representative identification results.

The assessment was also not limited to single-person voice recognition. Young Weida uses 10 types of mission assessment model capabilities, namely, voice recognition, multilingual voice recognition, code conversion recognition, context bias recognition, multiple voice transliteration, voice translation, language recognition, audio understanding, voice command follow-up and text reasoning.
Among them, the code conversion recognition is used to deal with the mixing of languages in the same voice; the context bias identification focuses on a list of given entities to improve the recognition of proprietary terms such as names, product names, etc.; and multiple voice transliteration requires the simultaneous identification of the content of the speech and the distinction between speakers. The remaining tasks also include the determination of the language used in the audio, the conversion of the voice to the target language and the understanding of the audio content, the execution of voice instructions and the completion of relevant text reasoning.

In terms of reasoning efficiency, Young Weidar tested different value accuracy and coded solutions on a single RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell server version of GPU. The report showed that when NVFP4Z83Z versions were used to decode in conjunction with DFlash2, the model could process audio as fast as 2238 seconds of audio per second; in a single request test, it took approximately 0.13 seconds to process a 30-second audio.
In terms of model adaptation, Weidar provided Nemo Speech as a fine-tuning tool. The test results showed that, of the 17 matching tasks, training in the use of single GB300 GPUs for each task normally took between 0.5 and 2.3 hours.

The model also provides different precision versions of BF16, FP8 and NVFP4 to fit different VRAM and reasoning needs.
Conclusion: The competition for voice models is moving towards multitasking integration
Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe combines the abilities of voice transliteration, multi-person speech differentiation and multilingual processing into the same open-source model, reducing the complexity of multiple voice tools in the enterprise portfolio.
At the same time, user demand for voice models is extending from simple voice-writing to more complex tasks. The ability of the voice model to accurately recognize the voice, distinguish the number of speakers and balance the efficiency of reasoning with the flexibility of deployment is becoming an important factor for users to adopt the model.
It is a matter of concern how well integrated models are presented in real business and multilingual scenarios, and whether open sources can actually reduce the costs of the tool chain and deployment. Currently, these are still to be used by the developers.
